Within SMB, the Measurements team works with Big Data to understand employers and their needs, helping to improve our product and drive hires by providing high quality and timely metrics and analytics. This position is focused on orchestrating complex data pipelines in AWS using an in-house scheduling system written in Rust. Responsibilities:
As a Staff Software Engineer in the SMB Growth team, you will build software that guides employers to post high-quality jobs which achieve good performance in Indeed's search results. You will build UIs and APIs to offer helpful guidance to employers and highlight problems with jobs that could prevent them from being filled. You will join a collaborative team of extremely talented Engineers, UX designers, and Product Managers. We constantly dig into the data available at Indeed to analyze, inform and develop solutions to the right problems. If looking at data, slicing and dicing it in multiple ways and coming up with interesting insights is something you thrive upon, you will fit right in. Who You Are You've had experience processing large data sets and an enthusiasm for working with the Rust programming language. We're working in AWS using EMR/Athena to process data using SQL, and an in-house Rust orchestration system that understands data set time series, dependencies, and validity. Ideally you've had some experience with sourcing, extracting, transforming, and loading data, you are able to translate business requests into database design. You understand the value and benefit of solid data practices and how to translate that into satisfied business partners. You enjoy exploring and making sense of large data sets and get excited about learning new technologies and learning in a collaborative environment. Minimum six years of experience with some of the following skills and technologies:
Backend Java Engineering Experience ReactJS Experience Knowledge and enthusiasm for working in the Rust programming language Big data platforms is nice to have (AWS/EMR/Athena or equivalent cloud technologies) Service Experience at Scale BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a closely related computer technical field with 5

with MS) experience programming in any of:
